How are hydraulic cylinders classified?

1.  Brief introduction of telescopic hydraulic cylinder: telescopic hydraulic cylinder has two or multiple stages of piston, telescopic hydraulic cylinder piston out of the sequential type from large to small, and the sequence of no-load retraction is generally from small to large.

 The characteristics of the telescopic hydraulic cylinder: the telescopic cylinder can achieve a long stroke, and the retraction length is short, the structure is more compact. This kind of hydraulic cylinder is often used in construction machinery and agricultural machinery.

2.    Brief introduction of swing type hydraulic cylinder: swing type hydraulic cylinder output torque and realize reciprocating swing, also known as swing type hydraulic motor, usually have single blade and double blade two types. The stator block is fixed to the cylinder block, while the blades and rotor are connected together. According to the direction of oil intake, the blade will drive the rotor for reciprocating swing.

   Characteristics of swing hydraulic cylinder: swing cylinder structure is compact, the output torque is large, but the sealing is difficult, generally only used in low and medium pressure system for reciprocating swing, rotation or intermittent movement of the working environment.

3.   Double rod piston hydraulic cylinder. There is rod protruding on both sides of the two - rod piston type hydraulic cylinder. When the two sides of the piston rod diameter is the same, the oil supply pressure and flow rate is unchanged, the piston (or cylinder block) in the two directions of the movement speed and thrust F are equal.

         A single piston rod hydraulic cylinder has a piston rod at one end only.One end of the hydraulic cylinder is provided              with a piston rod, and there is no piston rod at the other end. The inlet and outlet of both ends of the hydraulic cylinder          can pass pressure oil or return oil to achieve two-way movement, so it is called a double-acting cylinder.

4. Plunger hydraulic cylinder introduction: piston cylinder inner hole precision requirements are very high, when the stroke is long, the processing is difficult, then should use the plunger cylinder. The plunger cylinder can only be made into a single acting cylinder, the return is realized by external force or dead weight.

The plunger and cylinder inner wall do not contact, so the cylinder inner hole does not need finishing, good technology, low cost. In addition, the plunger cylinder structure is simple, easy to manufacture, often used in long stroke machine tools, such as gouger, rail mill, large broaching machine.

5. Combined hydraulic cylinder: booster cylinder, also known as supercharger, it can convert the input low pressure oil into high pressure oil for use in the high pressure branch of the hydraulic system.

The rack piston cylinder consists of a double piston cylinder with a rack rod and a pinion and rack mechanism. Piston reciprocating motion by rack and pinion mechanism into gear shaft reciprocating rotation, it is used in automatic line, modular machine tools and other transposition or indexing mechanism

        Multistage cylinder, also known as telescopic cylinder, which is composed of two or multiple stage piston cylinders.               Multistage cylinder is suitable for construction machinery and other walking machinery, such as telescopic boom                   hydraulic cylinder of crane, lifting hydraulic cylinder of dump truck, etc.
