The mechanical sealing performance of glyd rings and step seals
Glyd ring is composed of high wear-resistant PTFE composite rectangular ring and an O-shaped rubber sealing ring. The O-ring provides enough sealing force to compensate the wear of the rectangular ring. For use with guide support rings, separate grooves should be used if the cylinder diameter is less than 40. It is suitable for hydraulic cylinder piston sealing, two-way sealing.
Working Pressure: 40Mpa
Reciprocating speed: 5m/s
Operating temperature: -40° C -+200° C (depending on the material of O-ring)
Medium: hydraulic oil, water, emulsion, etc
Assembling of glyd ring
First install O-ring, then install PTFE wear ring. Small specifications generally adopt direct installation method, oil heating, but the oil temperature can ‘t be too high, it can be set into the shaft when the wear ring is soft. Large specifications needs professional installation tool "cone sleeve", the small head of the bundle sleeve is gradually pushed towards the big head and finally pushed into the groove.
Step seal is a one-way seal, generally used for piston rod seal, sometimes also used for single-acting piston seal. Step seal is composed of a step wear ring and a rubber O-ring. The O-ring provides sufficient sealing force and compensates for the wear of the step wear ring. It is suitable for sealing of hydraulic cylinder piston rod.
Working Pressure: 40Mpa
Reciprocating speed: 5m/s
Operating temperature: -40° C -+200° C (depending on the material of O-ring)
Medium: hydraulic oil, water, emulsion, etc
Assembling of step seal
The installation of the step seal is to install the O-ring first, then install the PTFE wear ring. When installing the wear ring, the wear ring should be pressed inward along the diameter direction, and the wear ring is installed in the groove to smooth the deformation. In the northern winter, the wear ring would be heated first, and then putting it into the shaft. After cooling, it is installed in accordance with the above method. When put into the shaft, we must pay attention to whether it is completely set into the wear ring, and do not jam the shaft, otherwise it may squeeze the guide belt out of the groove and crush the step seal.
