What Are Wear Rings?

Apr 12, 2023

The purpose of a wear ring, wear band, or guide band is to absorb the side load forces applied by the rod and/or piston and to stop metal-on-metal contact from harming or scoring the sliding surfaces. Any hydraulic sealing system's performance is maximized and early system failure is prevented by properly working wear rings or wear bands.

Kintowe designed wear rings make them suitable for use in both piston and rod seal applications. Wear rings are available in a wide variety of materials and styles.
